COVID-19 changed our operations in Whiteriver drastically. Despite all the uncertainty, we know one thing is certain: God is in control on His throne. We won't sit and twiddle our thumbs as we wait for the country and the reservation to open. Now is the time for our team to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Our prayer is to show His steadfast love for those you are suffering from sickness and broken in spirit during this crisis.

This pandemic is global. Almost every community around the world is impacted, and the families of the White Mountain Apache Tribe are no exception. If you are able, we ask that you partner with our team to provide needed items to the community and the quarantined, COVID-19-affected families.

Apache Youth Ministries partners with the following organizations to distribute supplies to the White Mountain Apache Tribe (WMAT) during this time:

WMAT Emergency Operations Center

Johns Hopkins University

UIM Aviation (UIM International)

Wings of the Way

The RE:center

If you are experiencing financial hardship during this time and struggling to provide for your families' needs, we understand. Our team asks that you take care of your family and loved ones who may be suffering from COVID-19 or unemployment first. We know these are difficult times for most of us and we lift up the global church and the lost in prayer daily.

A QUICK NOTE ABOUT HIGH-PRIORITY ITEMS:

Squeeze bottles are for the distribution of bulk-sized hand sanitizer gel; think travel-size shampoo bottles or larger pump bottles. Spray bottles are for quarantined homes to create bleach-water solutions with bulk bleach products. When organizations donate gallon-sized (or larger) containers of hand sanitizer and bleach, community members need convenient-sized bottles to actually the product.

Meal-ready food items mean foods that come together to create a complete, sustainable box of meals. These may be several individual ingredients that combine to make a variety of complete meals or "just-add-water" boxed meals. Quarantined families need boxes of foods and ingredients that make sense and come together to create several meals for the household. Example of a non-meal-ready box: Canned beets, spaghetti noodles, dried beans, canned olives, canned tuna, gravy packets, peanut butter, and stuffing mix. Example of meal-ready food boxes: Spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, boxed macaroni-and-cheese, canned vegetables, crackers, canned chicken, mayonnaise, instant rice mixes, gravy packets, instant potatoes.

The AYM team will combine food donations to create complete, sustainable meal boxes to be picked up by Whiteriver community partners. Our team will purchase foods from Shamrock through a local church partner to create meal boxes that include frozen beef and chicken, butter, oats, rice, flour, beans, cheese, peanut butter, potatoes, etc. These specific boxes are in high demand. If you would like to make a financial donation to help us purchase bulk meals, you can do so here. Select "COVID-19 Relief" in the drop-down menu and leave a note if you would like us to purchase meal boxes with your donation.
